About Will Rogers Trail

The Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail is an 18-mile long track, divided into smaller routes like the Main Trail, Dike Trail, and Kite Hill Trail. It also includes an additional 5-mile stretch near the picturesque 346-acre Tom Kight Hill. Whether you've got a full day or just a few hours, there's a suitable trail for you.

Primarily designed for horse riding, the trail is equally loved by hikers and mountain bikers. Camping is permitted in certain areas of the park. Depending on your location, facilities such as marina services, boat ramps, docks, electrified campsites, parks, restrooms, picnic areas, and group shelters are available. You can also swim or fish in the lake.

The trail takes you through 50,000 acres of land and water, including the beautiful Oologah Lake, managed by the Corps of Engineers. It's a hotspot for wildlife, with animals like white-tailed deer, quail, fox, and rabbits regularly seen. Leashes are mandatory for dogs due to the wildlife.

The trail is mostly flat, with a few rises and falls. Sometimes, the terrain can be loose because the area is kept as natural as possible. The section on Tom Kight Hill is steep and challenging, not recommended for horse riders or casual hikers.

On your journey, you'll also see the location of Will Rogers birthplace, the trail's namesake, located across the lake. The trail can be found five miles east of Oologah town or 6.5 miles north of Claremore on Hwy 88. The trailhead is just off Hwy 88, east of the Emergency Spillway.
